Paris in winter (feat. Riverboat Shufflers)

The streets of Montmartre in WinterAhhh, the cliché par excellence: Paris, the city of love & romance. Yes, it's vulgar and we've all heard it at least 1000 times already, but what can you say if it's bloody true. There are these moments that you find yourself walking the streets of Montmartre and you just can't wipe that maronic grin out of your face. And in your head...

Your brain's all buzzing of serotonins
that paint the world around you in baboon bumm dark pink.
Your feet walking aloft fluffy clouds
made of lime green candy floss.
Your eyes spot bright flowering branches in the middle of december
and butterflies happily flapping about.

But what do you care, life is bright, pink and beautiful!!!

Nevertheless, it does help to lower your rose-coloured glasses from time to time. You might end up discovering rare jewels like this buskers, the Riverboat Shufflers:

The lady on the left, in her green plumage, never lowered her glasses and still flutters over Montmartre's kerbstones like Édith Piaf's "Milord". Paris hasn't lost any of it's seducive powers. Certain drugs are listed nowhere.
